Successful Debut of Panasonic in 2004 BIRTV
On August 28th, Beijing International Radio and TV Equipment Exhibition (BIRTV), the vane of China’s radio and TV development, was concluded successfully in China International Exhibition Center.
As early as on August 23rd, right before the opening ceremony of BIRTV, Panasonic held a special press conference where it announced that P2 equipment (semiconductor recording) would become the fist product of Panasonic in the Chinese market. P2 is the TV news collecting and editing equipment based on semi-conductor storage technology and using proprietary P2 card for storage. In order to further promote P2 in the market, Panasonic also launched in this BIRTV, the full range of products based on P2 technology including P2 storage card, camera, editing machine as well as drivers, with which Panasonic will gradually promote the commercialization process.
During the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Beijing TV station used 30 P2 machines for games broadcasting. It is said that 13 Chinese TV stations including CCTV, Nanjing TV station, etc. have signed similar purchase agreements with Panasonic. This exhibition plays a significant role for Panasonic to expand its businesses in China and even in the whole Asian area. HAOSI provided overall planning, integrated solution and implementation plans for Panasonic in the BIRTV this year.
